Nurturing Wisdom in Our Children

Nurturing Wisdom in Our Children

Our children are growing up in a generation that requires wisdom that can only come from the Throne of God. What Daniel and his friends experienced in Babylon is very close to what is going on in our generation. As Daniel 2:23 (AMPC) says, “I thank You and praise You, O God of my fathers, Who has given me wisdom and might and has made known to me now what we desired of You, for You have made known to us the solution to the king’s problem.”
We are living in times of unprecedented change and influence, and our children are faced with choices that are often beyond their years. This is the time to seek godly wisdom, and as God has promised in His word, James 1:5 (AMPC): “If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.” And when we ask, we are sure that we will receive because that is His promise. Matthew 7:7 (AMPC): “Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you.”
As parents, we are faced with the decision of impacting our children’s destinies. Whether we actively take action to do this or not, the children are learning something every day—the question is: what are they learning? Who is influencing them? What impact will those lessons have on their lives?
The Gift of Children
Children are a precious gift from God. Each child is unique and has a specific purpose and potential. Recognizing this helps us to nurture them in a way that aligns with God’s plan for their lives. As parents, it is our responsibility to guide them towards fulfilling their God-given potential.
Praying for Wisdom
Praying for wisdom for our children is crucial. We want them to excel not only academically but also in making wise decisions. Wisdom helps them navigate the complexities of life and make choices that honor God. Encourage your children to seek wisdom from God, reminding them of the promise in James 1:5.
Protection and Guidance
Surrounding our children with God’s protection is essential. Pray for them to find the right friends and avoid negative influences. Teach them to discern right from wrong and to seek God’s guidance in their daily lives. Proverbs 13:20 AMPC says, He who walks [as a companion] with wise men is wise, but he who associates with [self-confident] fools is [a fool himself and] shall smart for it.
Dependence on God
Teaching children to depend on God in all circumstances is vital. Share practical ways to encourage them to seek God’s guidance, such as through prayer, reading the Bible, and attending church. Help them understand that God is their anchor during every storm they experience in life.
Nurturing wisdom in our children is a continuous process that requires prayer, guidance, and dependence on God. As parents, our efforts in raising wise children will glorify God and help them navigate the challenges of life with confidence and faith. Let us commit to praying for our children’s wisdom and well-being, trusting that God will guide them every step of the way.

Worship

Today's Scripture & Prayer: Parenting

πŸ“– Scripture: John 1:51 (AMPC)
"Then He said to him, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you all, you shall see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man! [Gen. 28:12; Dan. 7:13.]"

Practical Tips

1. Model Authentic Worship-
   - Children learn by observing. Be intentional about your own worship practices. Let them see you pray, read the Bible, and express gratitude to God.
   - Share personal stories of how worship impacts your life.

2. Teach Age-Appropriate Concepts.
   - Adapt your teaching to their developmental stage. Use simple language and relatable examples.
   - Explain concepts like praise, thanksgiving, and surrender in ways they can understand.

3. Create a Worship Environment:
   - Set aside a special place for family worship. It could be a corner with a Bible, worship songs, and art supplies.
   - Encourage them to participate by singing, drawing, or writing prayers.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, we express our gratitude for the precious gift of our children. You have entrusted us with the responsibility to raise and guide the next generation. Grant us wisdom and understanding as we navigate this vital role. May our actions align with Your ways, not just our words. Let us be true worshipers, modeling a life of faith and integrity for our children. May John 4:24 come alive in their hearts.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Welcome to Parenting Tuesday

Welcome to Parenting  Tuesday

Scripture Foundation

John 15:16 AMPC
You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed you [I have planted you], that you might go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit may be lasting [that it may remain, abide], so that whatever you ask the Father in My Name [as presenting all that I AM], He may give it to you.

The Gift of Children
I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible gift of children. They are not just our future; they are a divine blessing entrusted to us by God.
✅In this pivotal era, our children are the generation that will stand at the gates, contending with the enemy. But fear not! They belong to Jesus Christ, the Lion of Judah, who has already secured victory.
✅Yet, we face challenges. The adversary intensifies his strategy against our precious ones—seeking to steal, kill, and destroy. He aims to distance our children from us and from God. But we, as parents, mentors, and leaders, stand firm. We declare that our children shall rise and prosper in the land!
✅Our children are more than just a statistic; they are a chosen generation—anointed, set apart, and destined for greatness. They carry the torch of hope, faith, and love. As a royal priesthood and a holy nation, they will serve God and honor their parents.
✅Let us equip them with wisdom, resilience, and unwavering faith. Let us nurture their hearts, minds, and spirits. And let us celebrate their uniqueness, knowing that they are engraved in the palm of the Almighty God’s hand.

Prayer πŸ™
Today, I surrender our children to the One who knows them intimately. Lord, protect them, guide them, and use them to illuminate the world with the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May their lives glorify Your name.

Parenting Nuggets: Nurturing Faithful Generations

Parenting Nuggets: Nurturing Faithful Generations

Scripture:Romans 5:1 (AMPC)
"Therefore, since we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us grasp the fact that we have the peace of reconciliation to hold and enjoy peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One)."
🌿Quote on Parenting:
"Imagine if we started raising generations of children who stood uncompromisingly on the Word of God, knew how to defend the Christian faith, could answer the skeptical questions of this age, and had a fervor to share the gospel from the authority of God’s Word with whomever they met! This could change the world." — Ken Ham
How ⏳
1. Family Devotions: Regularly engage in family devotions where you read and discuss Scripture together. Encourage questions and open dialogue about faith.
2. Model Faith:Be intentional about living out your faith in front of your children. Let them see how your relationship with God impacts your daily life.
3. Serve Together: Find opportunities to serve others as a family. Whether it's volunteering at a local shelter, participating in a community cleanup, or helping a neighbor, serving together fosters a servant heart. Servant leadership starts at home!
4. Pray Together:Set aside time for family prayer. Pray for each other, for specific needs, and for the world. Teach your children that prayer is powerful and essential. I get amazed at the prayer requests that are brought home sometimes. Praying with them helps them to know that there is a place that we can take whatever is burdening us, at the feet of Jesus.
5. Discuss Worldview: Equip your children with a biblical worldview. Discuss current events, cultural issues, and ethical dilemmas from a Christian perspective. Help them think critically and compassionately. Let them have a safe space to bounce off ideas and share what they may be picking around them.
6. Encourage Questions: Create an environment where your children feel comfortable asking questions about faith. Be patient and provide thoughtful answers, even if you don't have all the answers. Questions help us to understand their view, and it better prepares us on what we may need to focus on.
Prayer:
"Lord, thank You once again for the gift of our children. We recognize that they are a reward from You. As parents, help us to be deliberate in teaching them Your ways. May our homes be places of discipleship, where we equip our children to face the world with unwavering faith. May our lives reflect the truth about Jesus, leading them to know Him and confess Him as Lord and Savior. Holy Spirit, guide us in this journey. In Jesus' name, amen."
Remember, nurturing faithful generations involves intentional effort, consistent modeling, and lots of love. May your parenting journey be filled with grace and joy!

“Stewarding the Next Generation: A Call to Purposeful Parenting”

“Stewarding the Next Generation: A Call to Purposeful Parenting”

Introduction
In the hustle and bustle of life, we often forget the profound impact we can have on the next generation. Whether they are our own children or those who look up to us, our role as stewards is crucial. Let’s explore this responsibility and its significance.

1. Acknowledge the Gift
Children are a precious gift, entrusted to us by God. Some are our biological offspring, while others are the children who observe our actions and seek guidance. Recognize this privilege and embrace it with gratitude.
2. The Home as the Catalyst for Change
The world’s transformation begins within our homes. As parents, guardians, and mentors, we shape the values, character, and aspirations of the next generation. Our actions reverberate far beyond our immediate family—they impact society at large.
3. Purpose-Driven Parenting
Our pursuit of personal goals and ambitions should not overshadow our duty to raise responsible, compassionate, and resilient children. Tomorrow’s leaders, innovators, and change-makers depend on the foundation we lay today.
4. Breaking Cycles and Removing Baggage
Generational patterns can either empower or hinder progress. Let’s break free from negative cycles—whether they involve trauma, limiting beliefs, or unproductive behaviors. By doing so, we create a brighter future for our children.
5. The Urgency of Today
Don’t postpone investing in the next generation. Today is the day to impart wisdom, instill values, and equip our children for their journey. Every moment matters; every conversation shapes their worldview.
Conclusion
May we find strength and grace in our role as stewards. Let our parenting be purposeful, intentional, and aligned with the greater good. Through our children, we can bring glory to the name of the One who entrusted them to us- God.

Deliberate Parenting

WHO IS RAISING YOUR CHILD?
The story of Daniel gives us an insight into a youth who chose to seek God for himself. He knew what God's word said and in it we see an upbringing that drew the child to the ways of the Lord.
As parents we are raising the next generation. Their rising and their falling is on us. We cannot sit in the comfort of our seats and let other people raise our children.
We need to take up the mandate of teaching them, training them and setting them on the right path. Daniel was building on a foundation that was created from the time he was young. He was a child just like our children and his love from God began somewhere.
May we be those parents who are setting up our children on the right path. We won't be with them forever, so the question is, in our absence, will their decisions bring joy to our hearts?
Everyday is a day for equipping the next generation.

Today's Scripture & Prayer

Scripture
‭Daniel 5:14 AMPC‬
I have heard of you, that the Spirit of the holy God [or gods] is in you and that light and understanding and superior wisdom are found in you.

Prayer πŸ™
Lord we read the book of Daniel in awe at what Daniel was able to achieve. We admire his zeal for You and how he deliberately sought Your face even in captivity. Lord, as we admire and desire these things, we also pray for the revelation to raise our children the way Daniel was raised. No one talks about his parents, but we know he was raised to be who he became. The parents might not have done much, but they created the right foundation for their son. Daniel was a child like our children, he grew up in the way of the Lord and he never departed from it even in captivity. His life was put in danger because of his faith, but he held on. Help us to raise children who know You for themselves, that when they are confronted with a decision, they will always choose You no matter the consequences. Lord help us to be deliberate in raising our children because they are getting into a future where the line between right and wrong has been removed. Give them discernment so that they are able to avoid the pitholes set by the enemy. Guide them and protect them in all they do.
In Jesus name, amen.

Shalom πŸ™
